Your Responsibilities:

• Ensuring a stable and secure MS SQL database environment: This includes designing, implementing, and managing all technical components, proactively and reactively following up on security recommendations, and minimizing operational risks.
• Leading technical projects and strategic planning: You will take the lead in MS SQL Server-related projects (upgrades, migrations, implementations) and contribute strategically to the architecture and evolution of the database environment in collaboration with the System Architect and Product Owner.
• Optimizing performance and resolving complex issues: You will analyze and resolve complex technical problems and incidents, and implement measures to improve the performance and stability of the MS SQL Server environment.
• Automating and collaborating: You will develop and maintain advanced scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell, potentially Python or Perl) to optimize operational tasks and work effectively with our offshore partner to ensure operational quality.
• Ensuring continuity and security: You will manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, ensure compliance with strict security policies and procedures, and participate in the on-call rotation with willingness to work outside regular office hours (mainly planned interventions).

Your Profile:

• Solid knowledge and experience: You have a completed relevant education (Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent) and extensive demonstrable experience as a System Engineer with a strong focus and in-depth knowledge of MS SQL Server (2019 & 2022), Windows Server (2019 & 2022), and VMWare.
• Expertise in High Availability and Performance: You have expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex SQL Server Always-On High Availability configurations and extensive experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting at an enterprise level.
• Scripting and problem-solving skills: You have excellent command of T-SQL and PowerShell for management and automation; knowledge of Python or Perl is a strong plus; and you possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Competencies and attitude: You are security-minded, assertive, have strong communication and organizational skills, and are able to work both independently and in a team, even under pressure. Experience with SAFE and fluency in Dutch and English are important assets.
